Business Open Source

Open Source: Refers to a program in which the source code is available to the general public for use and/or modification from its original design free of charge. Open source code is typically created as a collaborative effort in which programmers improve upon the code and share the changes within the community. (defn. from Webopedia.com).

Not sure it's for you? Read Why Open Source Software? by David A. Wheeler (Nov. 2005) which argues that open source can be a reasonable and even superior approach to proprietary software. The Open Source Initiative (OSI) also provides an article on the Open Source Case for Business.
